Duties and Responsibilities
* Conduct research and data analysis on Minority-Owned Businesses (MOBs) and Business Serving Organizations (BSOs) to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities.
* Prepare data collected for presentation to the public and dissemination on a public-facing dashboard.
* Lead or supervise interns, research assistants, or student workers in data collection, analysis, and community engagement efforts.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, including small business owners, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies.
* Organize and attend meetings, workshops, and events aimed at supporting MOBs and enhancing collaboration between BSOs.
* Assist in the design and implementation of programs and initiatives that provide resources, training, and support to small businesses.
* Coordinate research activities, including survey distribution, data collection, and stakeholder interviews, ensuring compliance with research ethics and best practices.
* Prepare reports, presentations, and policy recommendations based on research findings to inform decision-making and program development.
* Manage project timelines, deliverables, and budgets to ensure the successful execution of initiatives.
* Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop strategies that promote equitable business growth and economic inclusion.
* Stay informed about policies and best practices in small business support and community economic development.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree in related field and five years of related experience or terminal degree as defined by department.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Public Policy, Sociology, Urban Studies, or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
Computer Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, data management tools, and digital collaboration platforms.
