PhD Programme in Sustainable Energy and Technologies
The (unibz) was founded in 1997 as a multilingual, internationally oriented institution. The university promotes the free exchange of ideas and scientific knowledge, linking itself to the European humanities tradition and laying the foundations for its society by promoting respect for democratic principles. Its international orientation is further emphasized by its commitment to multilingualism and its international academic staff and student body. The Free University of Bozen - Bolzano champions research at the highest of levels, is committed to excellence and the advancement of knowledge through critical and independent scholarship and values freedom to push the frontiers of knowledge forward. Research projects which are interdisciplinary, international or which have local relevance are particularly encouraged. In this respect, unibz endorses research, and is especially committed to promoting young researchers.
A public competition for the allocation of PhD-positions in Sustainable Energy and Technologies is announced, for:
1. 10 positions: 8 will be covered by scholarship, 2 places without scholarship;
This PhD Programme lasts three years during which the PhD students will actively attend the teaching and scientific activities. PhD students have the unique opportunity to benefit from the special multilingual environment that the University offers, which include various events in Italian, German or other languages (seminars, optional courses, social events, etc.). The PhD programme comprises lectures and research activities that can be attended at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano and at universities abroad. The time spent abroad can be at one of the foreign universities with which this University has an agreement or at other universities or research centres.
Duration: 3 years
Research Areas:
The research projects of the PhD students will pertain to the areas of interest of the Faculty Research Macro areas Sustainability and Safety for the Natural and built Environment, Energy Resources and Energy Efficiency and Industrial Engineering and Automation. Interactions with the other Macro areas are possible but have to be approved by the PhD Course Committee.
