Application Engineer Fire Detection Systems Company: Johnson Controls Location: Remoto What you will do: The Sales Application Engineer for Fire Detection Systems will report directly to the regional team supervisor. You will work from home or a local office while supporting sales and growth initiatives in the EMEA region by providing application support for the complete Johnson Control EN Global Products fire detection business portfolio, including addressable and conventional fire detection ranges and relevant accessories. You will interact directly with system distributors, installers, commissioning engineers, and end-users. As a member of the sales engineering team, you will closely collaborate with sales, customer service, inside sales, marketing, training, and R&D. How you will do it: Provide product support to customers and sales teams. Support the full product range of fire detection systems using JCI fire detection software tools to provide solutions that satisfy customer requirements, including PAVA systems. Receive product-specific training from JCI to ensure continued personal development. Communicate with consultants, designers, project managers, and end users, providing application services for fire detection and PAVA system solutions while advising on projects according to international codes & standards (such as EN, BS, NFPA, UL). What we look for: Bachelor’s Degree in electrical/electronic engineering or relevant experience in the fire detection industry. Minimum 5 years of working experience in the fire detection industry. Assist in and achieve annual targets. Excellent working knowledge of fire and voice alarm design installation standards including BS5839. Good verbal and written command of the English language. Problem-solver, with the ability to work autonomously and with self-discipline. Up-to-date with current industry trends. Understanding and application of EN standards regarding fire detection products. General awareness of relevant building standards and codes of practice for the region. Solid business communication skills, with the ability to report movements and meeting notes. Able to create presentations and present those prepared by others, relevant to the subject matter as required. Ideally experience with Zettler and Fireclass products (but not a must). Ability to identify the need for and develop processes and supporting materials. Computer literate; well-versed in MS Office, Salesforce, and company-specific or third-party diagnostic tools. Willingness to travel. Valid up-to-date passport and driver’s license. Ability to work as part of a larger team. Ability to work remotely using MS Teams and other software packages. Confident with a drive for results and accountability. Resilient and able to work under pressure.
