Due to our expansion and growth, a career opportunity has arisen for a Quality Manager - Italy.
About the role
The Quality Manager (Italy) is responsible for overseeing the quality of all products manufactured in factories across Italy. The role will be based in the Borgomanero area (Novara province) with remote working while traveling to visit suppliers. This role involves managing new product development from a quality perspective, ensuring supplier selection aligns with company standards, identifying and resolving major quality issues, and following up on outstanding quality cases.
Responsibilities:
1. Supplier & Factory Quality Management:
o Oversee quality control processes across all Italian manufacturing partners to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
o Assess and select suppliers based on their quality performance, production capabilities, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
o Conduct regular audits and inspections of factories to ensure consistent quality standards.
o Manage Third Party Inspectors and Laboratories for testing and inspection agencies to ensure compliance with company and international quality standards.
2. New Product Development:
o Work closely with design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to establish quality requirements for new products.
o Develop and implement quality control plans for new product launches.
o Identify potential quality risks early in the development process and implement preventive measures.
3. Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement:
o Lead root cause analysis (RCA) investigations for major quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
o Monitor and follow up on outstanding quality cases to ensure timely resolution.
o Develop strategies to reduce defect rates and improve product reliability.
o Write procedures to address quality escapes and tighten compliance.
4. Reporting & Compliance:
o Maintain detailed records of quality issues, audit results, and supplier performance.
o Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and company policies.
o Provide regular reports to senior management on supplier performance, major quality concerns, and improvement initiatives.
o Cost control and adherence to defined budgets.
o Set KPIs for monitoring performance against targets.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in a quality management role, preferably within a manufacturing or supplier management environment.
* Strong knowledge of quality control processes, root cause analysis methodologies, and continuous improvement tools.
* Leadership and teamwork skills.
* Experience with supplier audits, factory inspections, and product testing.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
* Strong communication skills in English and Italian.
* Willingness to travel frequently to various factory locations in Italy.
