Role Summary:
The Commercial Operations Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership to a team of six people, highly technical quoting staff supporting the business. The role is heavily focused on talent development, the deployment of sound commercial strategies, leading continuous improvement initiatives and the delivery of a positive internal & external customer experience.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage a team(s) of Application Engineers and quoting staff in the consistent generation of high quality, on time, value priced proposals.
2. Train, develop and engage quoting staff, while providing daily guidance in support of performance goals.
3. Ensure process compliance and training related to customer facing policies and procedures.
4. Engage in the creation and implementation of best practices aimed at improving the acquisition and execution of opportunities.
5. Enhance performance by analyzing and measuring performance metrics.
6. Drive effective collaboration and clear communication with cross-functional stakeholders.
7. Manage expenses for area of responsibility while ensuring staff is utilized effectively.
8. Enhance process compliance related to the application of tools, systems, and customer facing policies & procedures.
9. Embrace Flowserve values and ensure that all team members are effectively engaged.
10. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1. BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 8-10 years relevant experience.
2. 5+ years of commercial front-end and/or comparable sales/customer facing experience.
3. Leadership experience required with a collaborative leadership style.
4. High level of Commercial skills required, including business savvy and financial acumen.
5. Excellent organizational skills and a proven track record of achieving objectives.
6. Experience with commercial contracts and terms and conditions is preferred.
7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
8. Proven attention to detail and process-oriented mindset.
9. Strong understanding of Flowserve's industry and portfolio.
10. Continuous improvement mindset and comfort with analytical tools.
11. English and Italian fluent.
12. Moderate travel will be required.
