JOB PURPOSE As HR Specialist you will join the fastest growing Cruise Liner in the world and be the first point of contact for line managers and employees on a wide array of topics. You will support our people throughout their entire employment lifecycle by running the daily HR operations and employee relations. You will also enjoy working as part of a wider HR international function, supporting with the implementation and development of new HR policies and processes for the Sorrento Cruise Technical Department office aimed at improving the organisation effectiveness of the company. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES In full alignment with the MSC UK HR function, and considering the local requirements, the HR Specialist will have responsibilities including: Supporting with the selection process and managing an effective onboarding/offboarding of people; Providing technical and commercial business leaders support and advice for all matters related to the employee lifecycle, with the aim to improve engagement, sustain career progression and build continuous professional development opportunities; Helping managers deal with issues such as absence management, poor performance, low morale including by leading the administration of discipline when needed and in compliance with the Italian law; Advising employees and Managers on Employee Relation matters, company policies and processes; Suggesting changes to current practices and implementing new HR policies and processes; Ensuring all company policies and processes are applied consistently, in full compliance with the Italian law; Following the company Individual Performance Management process supporting line managers as needed; Working with the management and the wider HR function to identify opportunities for people development promoting training programmes, talent management and succession planning; Creating, developing and producing, upon request, detailed reports and analysis of key HR metrics to support company decision making; Being responsible for ensuring your own personal development, ensuring that you are up to date with HR legislation and good practice. QUALIFICATIONS Excellent oral and written English; A BSc/BA in HR Management, Law or similar relevant disciplines and/or alternatively a solid experience as HR Business Partner/Generalist or Specialist; Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite; Robust knowledge of Italian employment law and HR best practices together with a robust working practice applying these standards; Experience interacting with Italian Unions; Proactive and positive approach and a problem-solving attitude together with the drive to change and improve the level of business support; Excellent time management and ability to prioritise urgent issues whilst achieving outcomes to agreed deadlines; Self-driven, flexible and reliable, can work independently to achieve own objectives; Resilient, able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
