About the team – The AIS European Training Centre (ETC) is an ASC site located in Gavirate, Italy as a base for Australian athletes competing in Europe for the European. The ETC hosts several summer and winter sports for short stays and longer training camps. This ASC site is managed by ETC staff with close cooperation with other ASC branches to ensure this world class facility is maintained to high-performance standards and helps deliver on the 2032 High Performance and Win Well strategy. About the role – The Corporate Finance Manager (CFM) provides financial and corporate business advice to the ETC Lead and ASC’s finance division in line with both Australian and Italian government, legislative and financial obligations. The CFM formulates accurate operating and capital budgets, manages all payment receivables and accounts payables, leads capital asset and resource management and control, forecasts budget projections, accesses business application systems and manages risk to assist in the achievement of strategic priorities on behalf of the ASC. The CFM has demonstrated success in working with Italian government financial and tax institutions. They manage the payroll and Human Resource requirements of locally engaged ASC Italian staff and other contractors within the framework of Italian legal employment guidelines and national workplace agreements. The holder of this position is also responsible for the partial Power of Attorney of the ETC (ASC Italia Branch) and will demonstrate proven professional Italian language proficiency in all literacy skills including listening, speaking, reading and writing. About you – We are looking for a motivated individual with excellent attention to detail and experience delivering finance and corporate functions within an Australian Government Agency and an international context. The person will be an Australian citizen, highly proficient Italian speaker, flexible, have proven experience in working in small teams, overseas, in remote environments and demonstrate cultural sensibilities obtained by working in culturally diverse teams. The successful candidate will have: • A degree or higher qualification/s relevant to the role and/or appropriate experience in High Performance sport. • At least 8 years in a similar finance, business management role with relevant experience in the Australian government and sport sectors. • Strong and adaptable bilingual (Italian/English) communication skills with the ability to communicate specific finance and corporate information clearly in both languages. • Demonstrated success in developing, implementing, and achieving financial strategies to ensure long-term business goals, including capital optimisation, investment strategies, and operational budget management in line with both Australian and Italian regulatory legislation. • Demonstrated experience in deputising and representing an organisation to develop relationships with local, regional and national stakeholders through the promotion of sport and bilateral cooperation This position is based in Gavirate, Italy and is offered as an ONGOING position.
