The HSE Director will be responsible for leading health, safety, and environmental strategies across six European markets for a leading renewable energy producer. Based in Milan, this role will ensure the highest standards of HSE compliance, risk management, and operational excellence across all assets and projects within the company's portfolio.
Responsibilities:
Developing and implementing HSE policies, procedures, and initiatives to mitigate risks and drive continuous improvement.
Providing expert guidance to operational teams, ensuring adherence to local and international regulations while promoting best practices in occupational health, process safety, and environmental sustainability.
Leading audits, incident investigations, and performance reporting, ensuring robust data analysis and insights drive informed decision-making and proactive risk management.
Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, contractors, and industry partners, to influence and align HSE strategies with evolving industry standards.
Driving a strong safety culture across all levels of the organisation, embedding HSE considerations into daily operations and long-term strategic planning.
Monitoring and interpreting European HSE legislation relevant to renewable energy infrastructure, ensuring compliance across all markets and proactively addressing regulatory changes.
Managing HSE training and development programmes to enhance awareness, capability, and engagement across operational teams.
Requirements:
Extensive experience in HSE leadership within the renewable energy, utilities, or industrial sectors.
A strong track record of managing multi-country HSE operations in complex environments.
Deep knowledge of European HSE legislation and regulatory frameworks.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
A strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to embedding a culture of safety and sustainability across the organisation.
