With a view to strengthening our team, we are looking for a DEVELOPMENT LEADER Summary This position functionally reports to the Engineering Project Leader and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the deliverables for assigned projects. The ideal candidate should have approximately 10 to 15 years of professional experience, including prior experience with an Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier in component and system management, with a proven track record of successfully meeting their responsibilities. Scope of Development Body structure and panel Closures Exteriors (bumpers, exterior trims, lighting systems, etc.) Key Responsibilities Lead a cross-functional team to deliver the whole vehicle specification targets. Define and achieve the technical scope for each system, ensuring that it meets all legal requirements and project specification targets. Coordinate and manage cross-functional team activities to secure component and system-level delivery. Define and achieve module timing, cost, and weight targets. Drive the Engineering Change Management process to achieve targets. Support the physical build phases and drive the problem-solving process (analysis, solution definition, proof of concept/validation, change management/change approval, solution implementation) for engineering and quality issues. Monitor and agree on concept changes. Manage suppliers with a cross-functional team of Design, Quality, Logistics, Purchasing, Process & Manufacturing, and Service personnel to ensure complete PPAP is delivered for every component to support program timing. Manage the escalation process. Present project reports to management and customers. Ensure that PF and customer standards and specifications are fulfilled. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience B.S / M.S in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering. Extensive experience in body systems development (required systems). Strong technical project management skills with proven leadership, decision-making, and accountability. Good commercial awareness to maintain a focus on cost, profit, quality, and risk. A strong track record of delivering designs to timing, weight, and cost targets. Supplier management experience, implementing DFM requirements within the project scope. Understanding of the design, weight, cost, and quality constraints of various materials used within the scope and their manufacturing processes. Understanding of main scope of work attributes and performances. Experience in creating and updating Technical Specifications, DFMEA, DVP, Timing Plans, and Minutes and Actions of Meetings. Fluency in English (B2 or higher). Personal Attributes Strong communication skills with the ability to organize design reviews and convey design changes to change management teams. Organizational skills and the ability to manage projects. Ability to lead, motivate, and focus team members and suppliers. Flexible approach to working hours, travel requirements, and adaptability to changing and multiple priorities. Working knowledge of current legal standards and directives.
