We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Store Manager who will be a key member of our store leadership team, supporting the Store Manager in achieving operational excellence and profitability. Purpose of Role
The Assistant Store Manager contributes to achieving sales goals, profitability, and other KPIs while performing daily operations. They are responsible for supporting merchandising standards and ensuring operational excellence; they also serve as a guide, coach, and mentor to teammates. They substitute for the Store Manager in their absence.
Your Impact
Sales and omni-channel approach
• Supports the business plan by promoting the achievement of key store goals, including sales and profitability.
• Effectively uses technology to increase athlete engagement and drive KPI achievement.
• Supports omni-channel initiatives by promoting our campaigns through apps and social media and contests for athletes.
Brand image and customer experience
• Acts as a service leader embodying customer service standards and sales behaviors.
• Ensures maintenance of brand standards in terms of order, cleanliness, and organization of the sales floor, cash registers, and fitting rooms.
• Clearly communicates expectations for achieving brand standards.
Retail operations
• Oversees daily operational procedures.
• Collaborates with the Store Manager on staffing/scheduling adjustments to achieve productivity, payroll, and sales goals.
• Supports/guides merchandise movement through reports and sales.
• Responsible for leading and/or supporting visual directives, including mapping and setups.
• Supports/guides receiving activities, processing, markdown optimization, and replenishment.
• Verifies store compliance checks and inventory discrepancies against company loss prevention standards.
Leadership and team collaboration/team management
• Provides a compelling vision and purpose that encompasses UA's key competencies and functional behaviors.
• Clearly communicates expectations for achieving performance and behavior standards.
• Establishes and supports relationships with teammates, peers, and management to foster positive change.
• Collaborates with the Store Manager to implement performance management tools.
• Promotes teammate engagement and development by recognizing and rewarding those who excel in performance.
• Identifies and resolves teammate performance issues.
• Communicates timely priority issues to the Store Manager and collaborates to find solutions.
• Assists with recruiting, training, and developing teammates.
• Holds teammates accountable for employment policies and practices.
• Proactively seeks personal development and learning opportunities to enhance leadership skills.
• Collaborates with the Store Manager to reinforce Under Armour policies and procedures.
• Guides/supports the Division of Responsibilities (DOR) to contribute to overall store efficiency.
Qualifications
• Advanced skills in calculation, reading, writing, and communication.
• In-depth knowledge of the local language and basic oral English proficiency.
• Proficiency in using computers and other technologies.
• Knowledge of employment laws, including compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
Requirements
• One year of experience in retail sports/apparel and footwear stores.
• One year of supervisory experience in retail.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Availability to work flexible hours (including holidays, nights, and weekends).
Physical Requirements
• Ability to handle or move products weighing up to 12 kg.
• Ability to stand and move for long periods with brief breaks to handle products.
• Ability to freely access all areas of the store, including the sales floor, stockroom, and registers.
