TITLE: Concrete Batch Plant Equipment Maintenance Specialist DEPARTMENT: Concrete OperationsREPORTS TO: General Manager of Concrete Operations FLSA STATUS: Non-ExemptSummary: This position will be responsible for maintaining the concrete batch plants and equipment related to the plant, in an operational state at all times. This will include inspections and repairs to, but not limited to, batch plants, air compressors, conveyor belts, wheel loaders, etc. In addition, the position may require occasional operation of the plant or equipment, for which additional training will be provided.Essential Duties: This position requires job duties that include the following items:Maintain the concrete batch plants and equipment in a state of readiness for Sorrento Lumber Concrete.Collaborate with all levels of the division to identify any needed maintenance or repairs.Work with acetylene torches, welding machines, hand tools, hydraulic and air-powered tools, as necessary.Use a company service truck with a truck mounted crane, aerial man lifts, wheel loaders, excavators, backhoes, and forklifts in a safe manner.Complete work orders in a timely manner.Install, repair, and fabricate products out of various materials.Ensure availability and functionality of necessary items.Ensure that safety policies are in place and resolve any immediate safety concerns.Perform plant equipment inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance.Prepare and weld steel structures, appendages, and equipment.Assist personnel in the completion of their work activities.Respond to emergency repair situations as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.Flexibility to work early mornings, late evenings, and occasional overnight shifts.Communicate, improve, and adhere to all safety policies in the work environments and areas.Other duties as assigned or required.Work toward continuous quality improvement.Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures.Supervisory Responsibilities: This position may require limited supervisory responsibilities.Qualifications: To successfully perform this position, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required:Education/Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Prior related experience and/or trainingEquivalent combination of education and experience related to basic electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, welding, or any other trade related skills not listed.Language Skills:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety policies and procedures, equipment operating and maintenance instruction manuals.Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.Mathematical Skills:Ability to perform basic math skills including, addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication of numbers.Reasoning Ability:Ability to follow instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Ability to perform the requirements of the position in an unsupervised environment.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Drivers License: Class A or B preferred.Welding certification preferred.Hire is contingent on Background Check, Drug and Alcohol Screening, and completion of I-9.
