At UST Italia, we’re looking for an experienced Electronics & Embedded Engineer to join the development team behind NIDO, our proprietary Drone-in-a-Box system for fully automated aerial missions.
The NIDO platform integrates cutting-edge UAVs and robotic docking stations, enabling remote operation, autonomous deployment, and smart payload integration — and it’s about to hit the market.

🛠️ Your Role / Il tuo ruolo
As an Electronics & Embedded Engineer, you’ll contribute to the full hardware development cycle, from concept to field-tested prototype. You will:

* Design and test PCBs for embedded and power systems
* Program microcontrollers (e.g. ESP32) for real-time control and telemetry
* Integrate sensors, cameras, communication and safety modules
* Handle BOM optimization, sourcing, supplier scouting and PCB outsourcing
* Collaborate with mechanical, software and avionics teams
* Support transition to pre-series and industrial production

* Progettare e testare PCB per sistemi embedded e di potenza
* Programmare microcontrollori (es. ESP32) per controllo e telemetria
* Integrare sensori, camere, moduli di comunicazione e sicurezza
* Ottimizzare la distinta base, selezionare fornitori e gestire l’esternalizzazione delle PCB
* Collaborare con i team meccanico, software e avionico
* Supportare la transizione a pre-serie e produzione industriale
You’ll work directly on our UAV and robotic ground station, with hands-on prototyping, fast iteration, and the chance to influence both design and product direction.
âś… Required Skills / Competenze richieste
🇬🇧
* Solid experience in electronics design and debugging
* Embedded programming (C/C++ preferred, ESP32 highly appreciated)
* Good knowledge of communication protocols: UART, I²C, SPI, CAN
* Familiarity with PCB design tools (KiCad / Altium) and test instrumentation
* Experience managing external suppliers and component sourcing
* Fluent in Italian, good English for documentation and teamwork

* Solida esperienza nella progettazione e nel debug di circuiti elettronici
* Programmazione embedded (preferibilmente C/C++, ESP32 molto gradito)
* Conoscenza dei protocolli di comunicazione: UART, I²C, SPI, CAN
* FamiliaritĂ con strumenti di progettazione PCB (KiCad / Altium) e strumentazione di test
* Esperienza nella gestione fornitori e nell’approvvigionamento componenti
* Italiano fluente, buon inglese per documentazione e lavoro in team
