We are seeking to join our client’s Loss Prevention organization (LP), which is the corporate safety organization providing day-to-day in-field occupational and process safety support to operations, as well as centralized technical support and consulting. This position is based in SAUDI ARABIA on a long-term residential contract.
Purpose
Your primary role as an Industrial Incident Investigator (Loss Prevention Engineer) is to investigate industrial incidents (fires, major leaks, hydrocarbon explosions, etc.), identify root causes, and determine actions to prevent recurrence. This includes preparing draft and final incident reports and providing long-term support to implement recommendations.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Investigate industrial incidents, especially those with high consequences, understanding hazards and controls related to industrial facilities.
* Preserve and examine incident evidence using accepted forensic science principles.
* Support investigation teams by ensuring proper investigation techniques are used.
* Conduct thorough investigations with appropriate tools.
* Understand incident causation and the impact of human factors.
* Develop and review draft incident investigation reports, completing all review stages.
* Identify recommendations for global sharing and implementation.
* Create lessons learned and safety alerts to communicate actions to prevent recurrence.
* Educate employees, contractors, and others on lessons learned.
* Develop and review corporate safety guidance on incident investigations.
Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology from an accredited institution, with 10 years of experience investigating high-consequence industrial incidents. Must have a deep understanding of investigation tools and techniques, and be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
