Job Title Mechanical Design Engineer. Purpose of the Job The R&D Engineer will support the engineering team in the development of innovative electrification railway and power-grid components, focusing on improving technology, reducing costs, and expanding the product range available in the market. This role will primarily concentrate on the design, industrialization, and validation of railway electrification components, collaborating effectively with all technical departments, including Quality, Industrialization, and Manufacturing, to address any technical issues. Organization Structure Organizational Reporting Engineering and R&D Manager. Network & Links Engineering department, Quality department, Industrialization department, and Supply Chain. Responsibilities Performing all the engineering activities in compliance with QCD commitments. Supporting Quality, Industrialization, and Manufacturing teams during the homologation process. Performing 2D and 3D drawings with AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Performing mechanical FEM simulations with the SolidWorks package. Educational Requirements Knowledge & Experience Mechanical engineering preferably applied to electrification products. Knowledgeable in SOLIDWORKS FEM package or equivalent. Basic electric and thermal calculation skills (theoretical and numerical). Demonstrate understanding of basic manufacturing technologies. Good communication and interpersonal skills including with third parties (suppliers). Time management and reporting skills. Structured and organized with a hands-on approach. English operational in reading/writing and technical meetings. Preferably knowledgeable in SAP/GSI production planning (PP) package.
