Position Summary:
Establishes, implements and audits programs and procedures to ensure Andrew Corporation is in compliance with governmental rules and regulations regarding import/export administration and control.
Responsabilities:
* Analyzes Company and customer needs, researches transportation methods, and audits carrier costs and performances to ensure the lowest cost transportation is used. From an analysis of shipment requirements, identifies and selects the carrier/forwarder to use when shipping products/materials to sites.
* Address any queries relating to Import/Export processes and manage to resolution.
* Interfaces with internal and external customers, freight forwarders, and other functional areas to ensure coordination and logistics of shipments.
* Responsible for auditing inbound and outbound against freight cost invoice, and providing transportation quotes. Traces and resolves problems related to shipments.
* Contributes expert information and recommendations pertaining to import/export rules and regulations including preferential duty treatment, quotas, import restrictions, export restrictions, trade agreements and other related factors. Responsible for domestic and international systems shipments while ensuring legal compliance to governmental rules and regulations regarding import/export administration and control.
* Generate cost advantage initiatives. Advise and educate on alternative Logistics methods to further reduce processing and freight costs for the business.
* Maintain and retain accurate and up-to-date export declaration and support the Administration Dept. for checking the availability of POD and for the clearance in compliance with Customs export compliance regulations.
* Monitor the development of trade legislation and regulations and provide analysis and recommendations to sourcing and supply chain management on the potential impact
* Primary owner of the customs compliance manual and process updates based on changes in company operations, product mix, and changes in the regulatory requirements
* Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification
Requirement
* Degree in Business, Management or directly related equivalent work experience.
* Experience in an Import/Export/Supply Chain environment. Must demonstrate experience and proficiency in Import/Export Compliance control systems and SAP applications.
* Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects with competing deadlines.
* Must demonstrate ability to effectively interact with personnel at various levels and disciplines.
* Must have a good knowledge of International Trading Terms, Customs Procedures for Import/Export and an awareness of Export Licensing
* PC proficiency plus familiarity with SAP
* Good knowledge of English language
