Job Title: Family Advocate
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Venice/North Port
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Advocate to join our team. As a Family Advocate, you will be responsible for providing support and advocacy to families in need. You will work closely with families to help them navigate through difficult situations and connect them with resources to improve their overall well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Provide emotional support and advocacy to families in need
- Conduct assessments to identify the needs of families and develop individualized plans to address those needs
- Connect families with community resources such as housing, healthcare, and education
- Collaborate with other professionals such as social workers, healthcare providers, and educators to ensure families receive comprehensive support
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions with families
- Attend meetings and trainings to stay current on best practices and policies related to family advocacy
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field
- Experience working with families in crisis or in need of support
- Knowledge of community resources and services available to families
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Compassionate and non-judgmental approach to working with families

Requirements
Education and Experience:
1. Minimum - must have or within 18 months of hire, a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field
2. Baccalaureate Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or related field with coursework in social services, counseling, psychology, child development,
3. Two (2) years in a family/social services or early childhood setting related to case management
4. Bilingual - able to speak, read and write in both English and Spanish (REQUIRED)
5. Specialized training in social services, health, or disabilities case management desired
6. Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record – proof of auto insurance within agency limits, or access to transportation
7. Immediate/continued enrollment in the Criminal History Registry-Child Care Division
8. Current Health Appraisal, updated every two (2) years
9. Certification in First Aid and Adult/Child/Infant CPR within 90 days of hire
