The Software Engineer produces and implements functional software solutions within the Alstom Maintenance Data Solution group. The resource will work with upper management to define software requirements and will ensure the delivery in agreement with overall planning defined.
In this role, the resource should be able to work independently with little supervision, but he will also be required to work in collaboration with external resources (contractors or software consultancy agencies).
Main goals are:
* develop high-quality software aligned with user needs and business objectives
* support the delivery of the products developed within projects achieving the project and customer requirements
Responsibilities
* Organize and deliver software development activities ensuring QCD commitment, till the end of software development
* Define the software functional requirements specifications and ensure that all the requirements can be verified
* Keep the link between projects and internal support team to ensure the projects are delivered in line with their requirements
* Ensure the traceability of the software requirements through the development cycle
* Define the software architecture and define the software development concept (development tools, methodology, coding strategy, …)
* Contribute to software integration, together with the software designers
* Contribute to specify, design, prepare and perform tests and verifications of the software
* Contribute to standardization by reusing existing solutions or by defining reusable solutions, including COTS*
* Apply and ensure application of processes and standards
* Contribute to continuous improvement (RoE: Return of Experience, process…)
* Contribute to the definition of the software configuration management plan together with the configuration manager.
* Contribute to the definition of the software quality plan together with the quality manager.
* Maintain and control KPIs for the project and report to S/W Domain Leader.
Educational Requirements
* Master's degree or bachelor degree in the field of software engineering required.
Experience
* Hands-on development experience of software phases like requirement gathering, software development, hardware-software integration, etc. (minimum of 2 years’ experience in Railway or Automotive domain).
* High experience in software design and implementation for complex diagnostics data management systems.
* Managing work packages for sub-contractors.
* English: highly proficient in both spoken and written English.
* Ability to work efficiently in a team.
* Good communications and reporting capabilities.
* Open to change and to carry out new tasks.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Result oriented.
