About the department
The Investment & Valuation department conducts economic evaluations and provides high quality decision support for RWE’s profitable growth in Renewables. This includes the provision of commercial guidance to our business units for investment, divestment, bid and partnering decisions and guiding our investment approval process.
About the role
Based in the Italy/Rome, you will evaluate M&A transactions and development projects, support bid submissions, quality check business cases by questioning plausibility and consistency of input data as well as robustness of results and provide independent and unbiased recommendations to enable smooth and transparent decision making.

Your future plans
7. Carry out quantitative and qualitative analyses of development and M&A renewable projects that are located within various countries and support in making independent holistic recommendations to the management. Technology focus may include onshore wind, photovoltaic (PV) and battery storage
8. Build, develop and maintain financial valuation models to assess project economics.
9. Enact a governance role including the business case challenge of valuation relevant assumptions as well as the standardization and enhancement of our investment approval process and papers
10. Lead the RWE Renewables’ investment approval process and manage all relevant stakeholders
11. Take responsibility for Board papers by ensuring accuracy and clarity as well as effective communication to RWE Renewables or RWE AG Board
12. Provide commercial guidance to our business units for investment, divestment, bid and partnering decisions
13. Support financial due diligence processes
14. Support the evaluation of new strategic initiatives, financial workstreams and other internal ad hoc projects
Your profile
15. Several years of professional valuation experience
16. Knowledge of theoretical investment topics, with a focus on valuation methods, in particular DCF modelling within Excel
17. A degree in business administration, economics, industrial engineering, mathematical economics or similar
18. Experience in the presentation of decision-relevant information
19. A commercial mindset with strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
20. The ability to bring a critical mindset to projects in a constructive way to enable value creation
21. Proven communication and presentation skills with the ability to assure high quality and accuracy under time constraints with an awareness of deadlines
22. Fluency in spoken and written English is essential in our international team and environment
