Algorithms Test Engineer We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Algorithms Test Engineer to join our growing Decoding SW team. In this role, she/he will be responsible for the testing and validation of our suite of proprietary algorithms, ensuring its reliability and performance across a variety of platforms and use cases. She/he will work closely with algorithm designers, software developers, and systems engineers to deliver top quality 'Decoding-Library' to Datalogic teams responsible for scanners' development and maintenance. The Decoding Software team is in charge of research and development of the main software asset of Datalogic that is the suite of proprietary algorithms able to read traditional barcodes, 2D codes and some kind of OCR text. Captured images are typically processed by the edge-computing platform embedded into the scanner and the computing power, available to run our proprietary algorithms, also depends itself on the specific use case. Key Responsibilities: Contribute to design, develop, and maintain an automated, comprehensive, and efficient test system for a continuously evolving suite of barcode reading algorithms. The system can be based on an already existing test automation framework. Work closely with algorithm and systems engineers to define the list of functional and performance requirements that shall be covered by the new test cases to be designed and implemented. Contribute to continuously enrich the set of annotated images used as input of the test cases. Leverage proper tools to both generate fully synthetic images and make data augmentation, starting from images captured with Datalogic scanners in real use cases. Maintain the current C++ cross compiled application software specially designed to run functional and performance tests of our Decoding-Library on both PC and embedded boards (i.e., our edge‑computing platforms on which Datalogic scanners are based). Maintain the set of embedded boards up to date. In the automated test system, they allow to check Decoding-Library functionality and performance across all Datalogic scanners. Design, develop and maintain SW tools aimed at analyzing, aggregating, and translating the results of the performed tests into easily understandable metrics. Plan and coordinate the overall Decoding-Library test process. Document test cases and test results using proper tools (e.g., IBM Jazz Engineering Workflow Management). Collaborate with DevOps engineers, responsible for Decoding-Library CI/CD process, to include the needed non‑regression tests (against ground truth of annotated images) in the pipeline. Requirements: Education: Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Computer/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent field. Languages: Italian, English fluent. Experience: more than two years of hands-on experience in SW testing, including design and development of automated test system. Other Informations and Specific Skills: Proficiency in SW requirements analysis and creation of the related test plan. Good knowledge of C/C++ and Python programming languages. Good knowledge of software engineering best-practices. Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript). J-18808-Ljbffr
