Come work on the Amazon Robotics – Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging (MSP) Team! We are looking for an outstanding Quality Management System (QMS) Design Manager, who will be responsible for defining, managing, and maintaining the MSP Quality Management System specifications by planning, coordinating, and executing internal assessments of operational and safety-critical processes. This leader will partner with (1) the internal Customers (Operations, Maintenance, Process, Ops Engineering, etc.) to ensure the Quality Management Systems specifications will meet their needs, (2) the QA Execution team to ensure alignment and consistency of the manual, virtual and process validation with the QMS specifications, (3) the QMS Implementation Lead to define, structure and build the QMS according to the identified specifications. The primary role of the MSP team is to drive future innovation across all aspects of Mechatronics and Packaging, across AI-powered industrial hardware/control machines such as robotic cells, autonomous vehicles, sortation, packing technologies and packaging materials. We drive strategic partnerships with key stakeholders such as Operations, RME, ACES, Supply Chain, Transportation, WW Design, etc. to ensure we deliver robust products that effectively integrate into the Amazon Fulfillment network. The QMS Design Manager will be responsible to oversee the definition, development, update, and maintenance of the MSP QMS specifications, manage the performance of the operational quality program and ensure communication and coordination with operational leaders in the identification of operational quality risks. A successful candidate will have strong analytical skills combined with business understanding, broad experience and exposure across multiple stake-holders and deep skills in quality management processes and standards and complex systems integration and validation, which include a high degree of ambiguity. They will work successfully across multiple large engineering, testing and operations teams at a strategic level and drive quality across all our Products. This candidate requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, collaboration, analytical and abstract thinking, time management and organizational skills. This position can also be based in Germany (Berlin/Dusseldorf) and London.
Key job responsibilities
• Connect with internal customers (Operations, RME, ACES, PE, OpsEng, WWDE, etc.), to capture their feedback and translate them into QMS specifications
• Gather, define, update and maintain the MSP QMS specifications and support their implementation.
• Analyze and perform audits on internal MSP product quality process specifications, ensuring they meet customer requirements.
• Cooperate with MSP Safety and Compliance Team to ensure consistency of QMS specifications with the MSP Safety Management System.
• Act as point of contact and subject matter expert for the organization on QMS and operational quality.
• Support in managing QMS scope, budget, schedule, issues, risk, communication and other elements as needed.
• Define MSP products quality metrics and support their implementation.
• Support the adherence of product testing and validation to the QMS processes and procedures
• Maintain compliance of the QMS specifications with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree (BS)
• Proven experience in QMS specifications definition for advanced robotics, automotive or mechatronic products, AI systems and quality management tools (e.g., Siemens TeamCenter Quality, Polarion etc.) and data-management software.
• Theoretical and hands-on experience on quality auditing, evaluation and quality management system design in accordance with international standards and best practices (e.g., ISO 9001).
• Ability to travel up to 75% to business locations and project sites.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master Degree (MSc) in Engineering, Mechatronics or Robotics
• Strong analytical, testing and problem-solving skills
• Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems including AI, robotics and high speed manufacturing
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members, operations, and management
• Project management skills to plan, execute and complete tasks successfully
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor and/or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification
• Proven experience in fulfillment systems with storage equipment, material handling systems, automated sortation system, and related automation equipment.
• Knowledge of NRTL and/or CE compliance standards and regulations, auditing and assessment processes, including the definition and execution of quality and safety related checklists for product, factory and operational process inspection (e.g., CIG 023).
