RADICI NOVACIPS S.p.A is the Italian company of the High Performance Polymers Business Area, one of the world’s leading producers of engineering plastics and a network of production and sales sites located throughout Europe, North America, South America and Asia.
The HSE Manager of Radici Novacips Spa coordinates the activities related to environmental protection and occupational health and safety in the three production sites of the Company, in compliance with current legislation and risk assessment. The HSE Manager contributes to spreading the culture of social and environmental sustainability throughout the Organization, motivating personnel to follow and continually improve company standards. The HSE Manager may be appointed Head of the Prevention and Protection Service from professional risks as required by Legislative Decree 81/2008 for one or more of the Company’s production sites and is responsible for the management of environmental issues pursuant to Legislative Decree 152/06. In collaboration with the QA function, the HSE Manager manages the Company’s integrated QHSE management system.
The HSE Manager will report directly to the Global HSE Manager of High Performance Polymers Business Area and Functionally to the Employer’s Safety Delegates of Radici Novacips Spa.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for Budgeting and reporting activities of HSE perimeter;
* Risk management. Monitor the context of the areas of competence, analyze problematic situations and occurrences representing risks or opportunities and provide solutions to ensure Department stability and growth;
* Maintain a deep knowledge of the Company's materials, projects, processes, customers, etc. as well as of the relevant international standards and of any valuable innovation in the area of competence, to support strategic decision-making;
* Ensure compliance with legal requirements and internal guidelines. Enforce adherence of every aspect of the company's operational and business activities under own competence to relevant laws and regulations as well as Corporate, Business Area's and company policies and procedures, to maintain the company's legality and business ethics;
* Management systems. Responsibility for the establishment, implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of the Company's management system. These activities have to be managed in coordination with the QA Function;
* Oversight of operating activities. Responsibility over operational activities within the Area under own responsibility, consistently with the procedures and guidelines defined by Corporate and Business Area's structures, to ensure the achievement of desired results. Including but not limited to following aspects:
* Cooperate with the Industrial Dept. on the evaluation, request and execution of HSE capital investments;
* Lead environmental factors identification, environmental impact assessments and the resulting mitigation programs;
* Lead health and safety hazards and risks identification, evaluation and mitigation programs;
* Promote occupational injuries and illnesses and environmental incidents prevention programs;
* Coordinate the collection, review and management of the requirements of internal and external stakeholders (including but not limited to legal and customer requirements);
* Plan, deliver and follow-up on internal and external trainings to own team and to other company teams on relevant HSE topics as required by applicable laws and regulations and by internal procedures, with the support of HR;
* Together with Quality Assurance, support R&D and Supply Chain in the suppliers qualification and monitoring process and in the raw material approval process;
* Responsibility for the validation and on-site availability of raw material SDS;
* Supervise the management of waste, including classification, characterization, storage and treatment;
* Support the management (purchasing, storage and usage ) of hazardous chemicals;
* Support the management (selection, purchasing, distribution, training on usage and monitoring) of Personal Protective Equipment;
* Coordinate OCS activities, as OCS Program Manager.
* Lead the planning, execution and follow-up on all HSE audit activities including internal, customer, supplier and third-party audits;
* Plan and ensure effectiveness of emergency response and contingency plans;
* Plan, perform, and follow-up on annual evaluation of HSE compliance;
* Support HR in planning and delivering occupational healthcare services;
* Support all functions in the reporting, analysis, and follow-up on internal and external nonconformities and events, in compliance with Corporate and Business Area procedures and other applicable requirements; while being directly responsible for HSE area events.
Technical Knowledge
* Familiar with ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO50001 and OCS standards;
* Familiar with Sustainability Reporting frameworks;
* Strong understanding of Italian HSE regulatory environment;
Job requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Environmental or Safety Engineering;
* Internal auditor qualification in accordance with ISO14001:2015 and ISO45001:2018;
* 4 to 10 years work experience in the HSE department of a manufacturing company;
* Plastics or chemical industry background preferred.
Location /Work organization
* Availability to travel in Italy and abroad if required.
