About Purchasing Development
As Purchasing Development, we purchase the materials and the production capacity to produce both home furnishing products and food. We have more than 1,200 co-workers globally and operate in 27 locations, including 6 category areas and Raw Materials.

As a part of Category Area Wood, Foil on Board you will have access to a huge knowledge base and experience in both leadership and Foil on board material, production and value chain. We offer trust and space to test and try, explore, make mistakes and learn from it, and develop us and our partners.
About the Job
The Product Engineer is responsible for leading the development and implementation of new products, moving products from one supplier to another, and improving existing products based on quality performance and customer expectations.
For this position, it is important to know how to build and maintain business relations, have excellent communication skills, be a good team worker, and be empathetic, respecting values and being persistent. You are able to prioritize, adapt to changes easily, and have a willingness to take responsibility.
Also:
* Proven experience in Quality & Compliance / Product environment, good knowledge of materials properties, production processes and technologies.
* Preferably having an engineering education and at least 2-5 years of working experience.
* Ability to think out-of-the-box and critically in the constant search for ways to improve our products.
* Analytical thinking, which you will use in analyzing processes from the beginning of product implementation to data evaluation and finding improvements, cost savings, better design or quality.
* Good communication to help you find common ground with suppliers of different nationalities and to meet IKEA’s business demands.
* The ability to manage time well, balancing between the factory floor and office work.
* Preferred knowledge of product development tools.
