Functional Safety Engineer
We’re partnering with a leading research center in Pisa that’s looking to expand their functional safety team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the design, analysis, and safety assessment of software across both automotive and digital energy domains.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Innovating and enhancing functional safety solutions for real-time embedded software.
* Contributing to the design and validation of software safety concepts and architectures.
* Conducting safety analyses and ensuring compliance with ISO26262 and IEC 61508 standards.
* Managing safety plans and ensuring implementation of safety processes and activities.
* Building relationships with universities and research institutions to stay ahead of industry trends.
What We’re Looking For:
* M.Sc. in Engineering/Computer Science (PhD preferred).
* Significant experience in safety project management with knowledge of ISO26262.
* Experience with safety analysis methods (HARA, FMEA, FTA) and embedded software development (C, Assembly).
* Strong understanding of microcontroller architecture and safety-critical ECU design.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a strong team-working attitude.
* Fluent in English and willing to travel within Europe and China.
Nice-to-Have:
* Experience with AUTOSAR, A-SPICE, IEC 61508, or VHDL.
* Familiarity with model-based tools, POSIX-based RTOS, or automotive safety-critical applications.
