A Senior IT Engineer is a high-level technical expert responsible for overseeing and driving the development, implementation, and maintenance of an organization's IT infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of various technology systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and mentor junior IT staff. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Review tickets on a daily basis and respond to only those tickets that were assigned to him that require an on-site presence. Never take instructions from the users onsite for IT work; always instruct them to log a ticket. Independent maintenance and organization of the Taino headquarters infrastructure. Remote management of the Casalecchio headquarters and other remote sites (servers, network, backup, etc.). Manage the Windows Server Infrastructure including but not restricted to Active Directory, Firewalls, switches, monitoring, NAS/SAN, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Radius, virtualization environment, printers, endpoint security, and print servers. Administers and supports email system in a hybrid environment using Office 365. Acquisition, configuration, and deployment of new devices and systems based on company needs and growth. Dialogue and coordination with different departments of the company. Testing and review of policies and documentation. Availability to travel to Bologna 10-20% maximum based on needs. Possible sporadic travel to the company's foreign offices (EMEA area) or to customers' plants (1-2 per year maximum). Be the main point of contact to our vendors and contractors and assist with maintaining, managing, and enhancing the core business systems. Act as “Smart-Hands” for the IT Department for the Taino, Italy site. Assist with the Migration of the current ERP system to Microsoft Business Central. Be able to perform basic and advanced troubleshooting on users' laptops. Will be responsible for imaging, configuring, and deploying new laptops to users in that office. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline. Fluent with spoken and written English. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Experience in similar roles of at least 10 years. Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems/Windows Server Operating Systems. Knowledge of virtualization systems (Hyper-V, VMware vSphere). Knowledge of networks and protocols. Knowledge of hardware, workstations, and laptops. Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP. Basic knowledge of Linux. Knowledge of Backup systems (Veeam, Windows Server Backup, etc.). Basic knowledge in Cybersecurity. Basic knowledge of firewalls and their configuration.
