Progress Rail Signaling Spa is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Project Engineer .
The position is based in Italy and it’s open to our offices in Pistoia, Roma, Genova and Bologna.

Job Purpose
Manage the technical contractual scope ofthe project and functionally lead theproject engineering team.
Job duties (Responsibilities and Accountabilities)
Manage the technical contractual scope of the project:
* Be accountable for the customer acceptance of the project solution, directly interfacing the customer technical reference for the project;
* Manage the project technical risks and the corresponding mitigation plan;
* Together with the Project Manager, in case of contractual scope evolution, rise variation order and manage the approval with the Change Control Board, using the appropriate procedures;
* Validate the technical design choices with the peers (Eg: V&V Manager), the AE Technical Advisor and the Product Development (R&D) Direction;
* Identify which are the applicable regulations in the customer country and ensure they are taken into account in project solution design;
Define and manage the external and internal interfaces:
* between different Sub-Systems,
* within sub systems interfaced with signaling scope
* with Subcontractors,
* with Products and R&D team,
Performs surveys on site and produce constraints for installation of equipment:
Be accountable for deliveringthe scheme plan : this drawing summarizes the Signalling solution, and the associated layout of the equipment along the track.

Manage the project solution, meaning the customization and parameterization of the generic solution to meet Quality, Cost, Delivery and Performance (QCDP) commitments:
* Build and analyze,together with the System Engineer or the Technical Advisor, the project requirements database and allocate requirements to R&D team, Project Engineering team and Industrialization team;
* Act as a chairman of Project Change Control Board (CCB) for the Project (to validate variations);
* Organize the configuration management and the organization of transverse technical meetings for scope management : CCB, Configuration review, baselines definition
* Be responsible of the project design and application engineering activities;
* Be accountable for Engineering tasks, Quality, Costs of Engineering and Delivery time;
* Consolidate and provide BoM/BoQ
Functionally lead the project engineering team:
* Allocate Task(s) across Project Engineering team and ensure engineering activities regular follow-up;
* Deploy the applicable engineering process, methods & tools on the project;
PE is accountable for Project Delivery Sheet and verify that the relevant Project Safety Case is delivered in the planned time;
Manage the interface with the project core team:
* Provide all technical documents to the project core team members for the industrialization, sourcing, installation, test and commissioning (production BoQ, architecture schematics, ...);
* Support actively the solution of the technical issues detected by different core team members;
During project warranty, coordinate actions to support resolution of pending technical issues following the Project Warranty requirements;
Support Project Quality Manager to consolidate the REX of the Project and the Reliability Growth in case of issues after the entering in commercial service;
Support AE Technical Advisor / AE Engineering Department Head to define/perform knowledge capitalization.
Experience and Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (electronic, electric, computer science, telecommunication) or equivalent experience;
* IT skills: MS Office suite; Autocad; MS Project; Windows O.S. as user;
* Good experience in Projects execution and Engineering team management;
* Good knowledge in Engineering Design methods and tools (system design and/or system modelling; requirements management; project planning; BoM/BoQ management);
* Decision making ability and troubleshooting skills;
* Language skills:
1. Italian mother tongue (or equivalent)
2. English knowledge: B2 or equivalent
3. Others : (French, Spanish, German……)
