For our Italian Branch located in Caponago (MB) we are seeking a committed and proactive:
Global Category Manager (f/m/d)
Your daily contribution:
As "Global Category Manager" you are the leader of the assigned Category responsible for defining, implementing and executing effective strategies with the aim to achieve the set targets of cost reduction, optimizing and managing the total category spend throughout the Burckhardt Compression Group while maintaining the pre-requisites of Quality and Delivery performance.
The "Global Category Manager" in his/her role works across BC, has access to and provides guidance to the Sourcing and Project procurement resources of the various procurement organizations.
The main tasks will include:
1. Analyzing spend / demand / future development in the assigned category.
2. Setting category strategy and implementation plan for assigned global categories according to the business needs.
3. Maintaining Burckhardt Compression "Approved vendor list" for the assigned category.
4. Negotiating and making global frame agreements for assigned categories.
5. Ensuring adherence to the set category strategy (Controlling).
6. Improving cost level and service quality of existing suppliers (Cost, Delivery performance and Quality of supply) in cooperation with the regional project procurement teams.
7. Managing projects and other tasks related to the category projects assigned.
8. Coordinating with other category managers and procurement organizations for allocation and use of resources available in the BC group.
Your Profile:
1. Prior work experience in Consultancy (Supply Chain) /Category Management / Strategic Procurement within a technical industrial corporation.
2. Extensive knowledge of sourcing theory and practice.
3. Solid understanding and technical knowledge in the area of mechanical auxiliaries within engineering industry set-up.
4. Track record of commercial and contractual expertise, paired with analytical thinking, strong initiative and negotiation skills.
5. Very solid PC skills (Word, Excel, SAP, MS-Project), strong IT system knowledge and ideally knowledge of BI tools.
6. Fluent in English (verbal and writing) and preferable Italian / German language skills.
7. Experience in negotiation with suppliers and contract management.
