This position reports to
Sales Support Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will create and complete bids/estimations/quotations based on customer specifications or requirements/budget to achieve market competitiveness and high margins for the Company. The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid. You will be mainly accountable for:
1. Formulating competitive bids/estimates/quotations, considering the best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each situation.
2. Ensuring tenders are well documented in a timely manner and with an appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate costs.
3. Managing the preparation of all technical (e.g. defining the most suitable technology and product type(s)), financial (e.g. total price sheet, cash flow analysis), and project management (e.g. quantifying hours of engineering and commissioning) aspects of the bid/estimate/quotation.
4. Ensuring that inputs for editing activities are provided on time and according to established quality procedures.
5. Managing external services to support bid preparation such as translations and governmental approvals.
6. Collecting and archiving documentation regarding the offer/order and recording assumptions and decisions taken during the development process.
7. Regularly reporting the status of the bids/estimates/quotations using defined tools and analyzing the reasons for tenders being lost and won.
8. Identifying potential risks in the bids, quotations, and estimates, and in any related contract agreements across customers/channels.
9. Providing information and/or participating in the Risk Review process in accordance with ABB policy.
10. Establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand customer needs and ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the sales process.
11. Providing necessary technical support to Sales Managers during technical meetings with customers.
12. Identifying potential vendors for equipment and materials required in the project and technically evaluating supplier offers to check match with specifications.
13. Collaborating with Supply Chain Management to coordinate requests to subcontractors.
Qualifications for the role
* Skilled in the industrial automation sector with specific background in process analytical systems.
* 5 or more years of experience in the same role and managing projects involving analytical systems.
* Passionate about customer orientation and team collaboration.
* Degree in Environmental, Process, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Chemistry.
* Proficient in communicating in Italian and English.
* Availability for short-medium term travel (from 1 day to 2-3 weeks) within the national territory and abroad.
