JOB DESCRIPTION
The Regional Powder Coating Engineer will oversee the execution of capital projects for powder coating operations at our EMEAI GSC manufacturing sites (Italy, Poland, France, UK). This role involves leading site support for capital projects, continuous improvement and standardization initiatives, while serving as the representative for the regional engineering team within the global powder community of practice.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The ideal candidate will drive advancements in capital projects and collaborate closely with GSC EMEAI Regional Engineering Team.
* Project Leadership: Oversee powder coating capital projects across EMEAI locations, including Poland, Italy, France. Ensure all projects adhere to safety, scope, quality, cost and schedule parameters. Projects will involve new powder coating lines, upgrades to existing lines, automation initiatives for manufacturing and filling/packing operations.
* Lifecycle Management: Facilitate all phases of the capital project lifecycle, from conceptual scoping and feasibility studies through front end engineering design, equipment selection, procurement, construction and start-up/commissioning.
* Engineering tasks: Perform project related engineering tasks, including assessment and creation of Block Flow Diagrams (BFDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Prepare comprehensive user requirement specifications (URS) and scope of works documents for tender packages. Facilitate design reviews with relevant subject matter experts.
* Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules. Track and report on key milestones and critical path.
* Progress Monitoring: Track and report on project progress, performance metrics including cost, compliance with standards and other key indicators.
* Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Assist with safety and regulatory activities including Management of Change (MOCs), Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), permitting, construction safety planning and management.
* Risk Management: Maintain and update the project risk register, develop risk mitigation plans and integrate risk management with change control and other project processes.
* Procurement Management: Handle procurement activities such as RFQ preparation, bid evaluations, responding to requests for information, vendor setup and inventory management.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement continuous improvement projects on existing powder coating lines to enhance performance and improve flexibility.
* Automation Projects: Collaborate on the development and implementation of automation, SW Future of Work and Manufacturing Execution system (MES) projects.
* Reliability Partnership: Partner with the Reliability Excellence team to establish maintenance strategies for powder coating plant and equipment.
* Internal Collaboration: Work with the global powder community of practice to establish standards for equipment setup and operations. Co-ordinate training and development sessions to optimise site understanding and performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in powder coatings or similar industry such as plastics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals or food & beverage.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, project management, organization, leadership skills, decision making ability, relationship building.
* Contact point for vendors and outside engineering companies.
* Fluent in English; French, Italian or Polish would be an asset.
* Flexibility to travel - up to 40% (Bologna in Italy, Thouars in France, Debica in Poland and Liverpool in UK).
