Hauptaufgaben
Incumbent assists a cook of higher grade in preparing cold sandwiches, hot and cold dips. Obtains, opens and heats ingredients from canned vegetables or fresh fruits. Mixes dressings, sauces, garnishes, and adds to salads. May prepare desserts to include parfaits, sundaes, and cakes. Assists in the grilling of chops, steaks, poultry and fish by watching while the items are cooking. Prepares food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring, or breading. Weighs, measures, and assembles ingredients for regular and modified menu items. Covers, dates, and stores leftovers according to established procedures. Mixes ingredients according to precisely written recipes that process quality products, minimize preparation time, and avoid food material waste. Occasionally cooks and serves food requiring only a short time to prepare such as hamburgers, eggs, pizzas, steaks, pancakes, bacon, french-fries, and arranges food on plates in an appetizing manner. Uses techniques such as frying, boiling, baking, mashing, and whipping. Prevents waste and spoilage. Operates a variety of kitchen equipment, which utilizes gas, electricity, steam, or microwave heat sources. Disassembles and assembles component parts and accessories for cleaning, and follows safety procedures regarding the operation of equipment to avoid personal injury or damage to the equipment. Cleans, stores, and maintains all kitchen utensils and work areas after each use. Sets up food counters, steam tables, dining room tables and side tables with food. Refills condiment containers and carries food from kitchen to steam table and serving counters. Assists cook in serving food.
NOTE: Incumbent may be required to lift and carry items that weigh up to 30 pounds.
Tour of duty is 40 hours per week to include weekends and holidays, as follows.
Week 1: from Monday to Thursday 14.00-23.00, Friday 15.00-24.00, Saturday and Sunday Off;
Week 2: from Tuesday to Thursday 14.00-23.00, Friday and Saturday 15.00-24.00, Sunday and Monday Off;
Week 3: from Monday to Thursday 14.00-23.00, Friday 15.00-24.00, Saturday and Sunday Off;
Week 4: from Tuesday to Thursday 14.00-23.00, Friday and Saturday 15.00-24, Sunday and Monday Off.
Working hours include a 1-hour uncompensated lunch break.

1. ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION;
2. WORK PRACTICES (INCLUDING KEEPING THINGS NEAT, CLEAN AND IN ORDER);
3. TECHNICAL PRACTICES (THEORETICAL, PRECISE, ARTISTIC);
4. ABILITY TO INTERPRET INSTRUCTIONS, SPECIFICATIONS, ETC.;
5. ABILITY TO USE AND MAINTAIN TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT;
6. KNOWLEDGE OF MATERIALS.
7. DEXTERITY AND SAFETY.
NOTE: Before entry-on-duty date, selected candidates must be able to obtain the "Attestato di formazione HACCP per addetti in attività caratterizzate dalla manipolazione degli alimenti".
Knowledge of the English language, both oral and written, to be able to read and follow given instructions is required of the position.
HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED: In order to qualify for this position, your application must provide sufficient experience to meet the requirements of the position. You will be rated based on the experience described on your application form.
