SUMMARY
Personnel needed to provide services to the Family Advocacy Program in support of the Army Community Service (ACS) Family Advocacy Program (FAP). The FAP Educator is responsible for ensuring every member of the USAG Italy community has access to family violence education and referrals to Victim Advocacy services for victims of family violence (child abuse, spouse abuse). You shall teach FAP classes, give FAP program overviews, assist with program special events, and perform administrative services.
QUALIFICATIONS
5. Education: A minimum of a bachelor's degree (from an accredited university) in one of the following fields: social science, behavioral health, health science education, community health or public health.
6. Experience: A minimum year (1) years of experience in family and children’s services or community organization, one of which is in Family Violence.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
7. Valid Driver’s License
8. Microsoft Office knowledge
9. English Proficiency at a level 3 (Good working knowledge)
Duties Include, But Not Limited To:
10. Conduct Professional Training/Briefings/Classes.
11. Prevention Programs, include community education programs, commander education programs, troop education programs, education for professionals' programs, and parent education and support. These programs are centered on domestic violence and child abuse prevention.
12. Community Outreach Participation: This includes manning informational tables, supporting and attending community events, and providing input for the FAP program.
13. Conduct Community Resilience Events/Family Summits.
14. Promote Child Abuse Prevention and Teen Dating Violence Awareness through community meetings and public education.
15. Marketing the FAP Program to the community.
16. Evaluation of program effectiveness/conduct surveys and assist with Family Advocacy Committee for FAP Program Evaluation.
17. Work with ACS FAP Team and attend appropriate meetings.
18. Case Coordination and Referral.
19. Assist with administrative duties associated with the service delivery, including maintaining a local unit database, leadership FAP training logs, and weekly data entry.
TRAINING/TRAVEL REQUIREMENT
The FAP Educator/Contractor may be required to attend training to enhance the skills and knowledge unique to the Army Command. Most courses are offered through HQ in San Antonio, Texas, or other Stateside Locations. Occasional HQDA training is provided by OCONUS to include travel from Camp Darby to Caserma Ederle, Vicenza, two times per year (usually for a period of 1-2 days per session).
