Partner with the best
The Lead Mechanical Design Engineer will be focused on investigation and selection of unconventional materials for auxiliary systems suitable for high temperature fluids and researching and monitoring of flanged connections solutions.
As Lead Mechanical Design Engineer for this position, you will be responsible for:
* Defining alternative materials having suitable mechanical and chemical properties for high temperature applications, doing research analysis and collaborating with external/internal partners (i.e. Universities, Research and Development both internal and external teams).
* Pioneering the use of innovative materials and engineering solutions to reduce cost, increase system efficiency, optimize product sustainability and life cycle assessment.
* Managing technical publications and patents related to identified innovative solutions.
* Supporting procurement in scouting new suppliers when an unconventional material is selected.
* Defining methods to monitoring flanged connections for high temperature and high pressure fluid applications.
* Designing gas turbines mechanical auxiliary systems, performing the necessary evaluations for systems sizing and components selection.
* Partnering with external engineering companies to complete design activities within required timeframes.
* Managing risk assessment during the product development phase, with mitigation actions plan definition.
* Supporting the manufacturing team during assembly phase, testing and product verification/validation activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

To be successful in this role you will:
* Hold a Master’s Degree in mechanical, chemical or aerospace engineering with good background in Materials Engineering/Technology.
* Be a clear thinker: take decisions with speed and accuracy based on best available information.
* Have problem solving approach, managing risks and mitigation plan.
* Be able to work with and within cross-functional and cross-discipline teams.
* Show interpersonal skills and ability to interface effectively with different levels of the organization and external Customers.
* Have clear communication with excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Have an entrepreneurial mindset that allows you to be self-directed, highly resilient, creative and solution oriented.
* Show attention to details and innovative spirit.
* Be fluent in English and Italian and hold an EU work permit.
Preferred Qualifications
* PhD in Engineering or R&D background.
* Master 3D modelling using CAD software (Siemens NX or similar).
* Demonstrate knowledge of International Codes and Standards for Energy and Oil & Gas industry (ASME, API, NACE, ASTM, ISO).
* Have the capability to model physic behavior through specific tools (CAESAR, Matlab/Simulink).
