The Web Front End Engineering Chapter is seeking a passionate and experienced Chapter Lead to oversee our team of front-end engineers dedicated to crafting intuitive, responsive, and visually compelling digital experiences. As a leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our front-end engineering efforts, driving innovation, and fostering a culture of excellence.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership
* Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the chapter's strategic direction, aligning it with the organization's overall goals and industry trends.
* Team Development: Cultivate a high-performing team by providing mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
* Technical Excellence: Champion best practices in web development, leveraging modern frameworks like React, Next.js, and SSG/SSR to deliver scalable and efficient solutions.
* Performance Optimization: Prioritize website performance, optimizing page load times, animations, and responsiveness.
* Security: Implement robust security measures to protect user data and prevent vulnerabilities.
Required competencies, knowledge, and experience
* Proven experience in front-end engineering with a strong portfolio of web applications.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of engineers.
* Deep understanding of modern front-end frameworks and best practices in web development.
* Experience working with headless CMS solutions.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* Strong track record of driving innovation and embracing emerging technologies.
* Commitment to security and data privacy.
Nice to have technical and professional qualifications
* Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, CloudFront, Amplify).
* Experience with continuous integration and delivery pipelines (e.g., Github, Jenkins).
* Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress) for ensuring code quality.
