Job Description
The Sanitation Technician plays a critical role in maintaining cleanliness and adhering to food safety standards within our manufacturing facilities.
Responsibilities
* Manage plant sanitation procedures, programs, and regulatory requirements to ensure all equipment is clean and safe for production.
* Adhere to strict sanitation, GMP, and safety standards.
* Perform cleaning and sanitation activities according to Master Sanitation Schedules for the facility interior and exterior.
* Mentor and motivate Janitors and Balers on shift, providing training and development to optimize performance and personal growth.
* Participate in regular meetings with plant management to discuss quality and sanitation improvements.
* Facilitate problem resolution related to sanitation and sanitation quality issues.
* Monitor the Chemical storage and dispense the appropriate concentration for cleaning activities.
* Receive and track sanitary and chemical inventory.
* Monitor sanitation team in the use of chemicals and proper safety procedures, checking inventory levels of chemicals and ordering supplies when necessary.
* Understand and demonstrate the Company's core values and operating principles.
* Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Requirements
* Sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines; self-directed.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize; ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
* Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
Preferred Qualifications
* Minimum of 2 years sanitation experience in the food-industry.
* Knowledge of cleaning chemicals.
* Basic knowledge of HACCP, BRC food safety, and GMP principles.
