Field Service Technician FCD
Role Summary
The Field Service Technician coordinates / attends troubleshooting and repairs of all Flowserve and Non-Flowserve valve-actuator-positioner products for customers in industries such as oil and gas, chemical, Power, nuclear, coal, mining and water/wastewater industries. The job involves coordination with Commercial Team, Major manufacturing plants, Engineering / Quality departments, QRCs and CSCs in the respective region.
Responsible for training the Field service technicians (at CSCs), create a pool of resources that are available to customers outside of their region, in case of demand.
Scope of work includes TAR tracking through FlowForce, planning, site walks, inventory assessment, identifying bad actors, Automation services, related retrofit/ changeout/ upgrade / re-instrumentation, monitoring opportunities in addition to participate in TAR activities either onsite or at one of the QRCs, as required
Customers are based onshore and offshore. This position requires an experienced engineer / technician who can provide confident expertise in the face of operational problems. The Field Service Technician will plan repair and installation of equipment, oversee start-up, conduct maintenance, and monitor the performance of products at our customers’ locations. While the technician may be the only Flowserve representative on site, they can call upon the resources of Flowserve’s Field Service and/or Service Engineering Team to ensure that our products are operating at peak performance. Flowserve counts on the Field Service Technician to be an indispensable resource to our customers, creating a lasting competitive advantage for our products and services. The position is on-the road most of the time and is organizationally based in the global Quick Response Centre (QRC) network
Responsibilities:
1. Actively support a positive HSE culture to reduce lost time injuries and recordable accident frequency rate and maintain a safe hazard free work environment. Work according to Flowserve and Customer safety regulation and rules. Responsible for organization of required equipment (tools, PPE, ...).
2. Make direct, in-person service calls in response to customer requests.
3. Assess mechanical / instrument / Electric related problems and take actions aiming at resolution
4. Oversee the full cycle of repair: disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, and assembly.
5. Ensure that equipment is installed successfully and on schedule.
6. Check equipment prior to start-up and assess start-up performance.
7. Work side-by-side with our customer’s personnel, and lead work crews as required.
8. Monitor the maintenance and performance of Flowserve equipment.
9. Train customers in the proper procedures for operating and maintaining
10. Identify field service sales opportunities for sales to follow up, quote and presentation to the customer.
11. Collaborate with Flowserve Sales & ComOps Team to ensure a coordinated approach to serving our customers.
12. Collaborate effectively with the supporting organizations of Flowserve, including the repair centers and commercial organization.
13. Maintain organized, accurate, timely records, including daily reports, jobs quoted, jobs performed, and time and materials charged using Flowserve designated systems and processes.
14. Perform Inspections and testing on customer site, workshop or third-party repair facility.
15. Perform start up troubleshooting on site or via online support.
16. Inspection / reporting of damaged equipment on site.
17. Perform risk analysis, risk assessments on site.
18. Regular contact with the local base as well as all the manufacturing plants and QRCs in order to access technical information, guides, procedures etc.
19. During non-booked season, extend support / assist their local QRC where they are based out of.
20. Communicate and support with root cause analysis within FLS and the customer
21. Complete and submit the final report prior to leaving job site.
22. Communicate by word and actions Flowserve’s values for ethics, safety, and quality.
Requirements:
23. Technical High School (HTL) and/or Bachelor in engineering or similar
24. 3-5 years of experience in assembly, test, trouble shooting of valve-actuator – positioner product lines.
25. Proficient in all factory testing requirements for valves, actuators and positioners including testing software and troubleshooting of digital products.
26. Autonomous, extensive travel, both domestic and international.
27. Excellent documentation skills regarding service reports and other documentation utilising AMP
28. Clear, accurate and professional verbal and written communication.
29. Able to work well without supervision and interface well with customers always presenting a positive perception of the company.
30. Proficient computer skills for accessing and navigating systems including Flowforce, AMP, Oracle, SAP, IGS (Villach), P!NXT, Valquo (Villach), Windchill, Valvesight, LMS, PMP, ISOquest, SharePoint, FlexDash, MS-Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.
31. Willingness to have / get the necessary immunization, vaccinations and medicine which are mandatory to travel international.
