Department of Defense Education Activity Educational Aide (Special Education) in Naples, Italy
Summary: About the Position: This position is located in one of two locations: Naples Elementary or Naples Middle High School. All candidates must reside within the local commuting area where the position is located. Local commuting area is defined as the geographic area surrounding a work site that encompasses the localities where people live and reasonably can be expected to travel back and forth daily to work based on the generally held expectations of the local community.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform administrative tasks such as attendance records, filing, scheduling, and reviewing assignments.
2. Support educational efforts in the Special Education classroom and general education classroom as needed.
3. Work with students in accordance with plans developed by the specialist and educator.
4. Monitor students during various phases of the school day.
5. Provide assistance in toileting, feeding, eating, and personal hygiene.

Qualifications:
To qualify, you must meet the experience and/or education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
General Experience: One year of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of an Educational Aide.
OR Education: Two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19. This position is part-time. Salary is determined based on the number of hours for this position. School year part-time seasonal work schedules include periods in a non-pay/non-duty status during the holidays and spring and summer recess periods.
