Telespazio - System Administrator
Job Description:
Telespazio is a joint venture between Leonardo (67%) and Thales (33%) and one of the world’s biggest suppliers of satellite solutions and services. The company teams up with Thales Alenia Space to form the parent companies’ Space Alliance, a strategic partnership which offers a complete range of space services. Founded in Italy in 1961, Telespazio is based in Rome and counts more than 3000 employees through its various subsidiaries and joint ventures.
The candidate will be integrated into a team of security engineers, network engineers, and technicians, working on several projects focused on engineering Ground Segments for satellite communication systems. The activity includes:
* Installation and configuration of virtualization hypervisor to build private and public cloud infrastructure.
* Installation and configuration of operating systems on physical HW and virtual machines.
* Installation and configuration of orchestrators to build microservices infrastructure.
* Installation and configuration of application COTS for network monitoring, cybersecurity, and system management.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
* Contribute to design, development, implementation, deployment, and testing of private and public cloud infrastructure, physical HW and virtual machines, and microservices infrastructure.
* Contribute to defining System, Network, and Cyber Security processes, configurations, and procedures.
* Maintain and analyze the system infrastructures.
* Produce documentation such as project slides, test procedures, analysis reports, drafting processes, and procedures.
Technical skills and attributes:
* Technical Requirement management (reference of previous experience).
* System engineering approach (reference of previous experience).
* Knowledge of data communications systems (Wired, Satellite, Radio/Mobile).
* Knowledge of information security management standards and best practices.
* Knowledge of bash scripting.
* Good knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems and databases (SQL, Oracle).
* Good knowledge of virtual environments (VMWare, KVM, Hyper-V).
* Good knowledge of orchestrator and microservices environments with containers.
* Knowledge of security technologies and products (such as SIEM, Log Management, endpoint security tools, Network and Security Management Tools).
* Availability to work in defense/military projects.
* Availability to be subjected to Security Clearance process.
* Availability to move outside the place of work for meetings and installations (Italy and Abroad).
* Communication and negotiation skills.
* Capability of team working with sharing competence, activity, and goals.
Language skills:
* English Language: B1/B2
Qualifications: Degree in computer engineering or telecommunication engineering or similar or Technical Superior Study in technical/scientific area. Preferred experience in Computer and information technologies.
Experience: 3/5 years at least
Availability to move outside Rome for on-site activities (Italy and Abroad).
