Summary Position
The inventory analyst utilizes spreadsheets, databases, software, and statistical models to analyze data related to inventory levels, sales, and supply chain operations.
They monitor performance, identify trends, and forecast demand in order to communicate with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments for the timely and accurate delivery of goods.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the inventory analyst include collecting and organizing inventory data from various sources, performing inventory analysis and reporting using key performance indicators (KPIs), supporting the development of inventory policies and procedures, recommending solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy, evaluating inventory risks and opportunities, as well as coordinating with other stakeholders to resolve issues.
Essential Job Functions
1. Utilize inventory management software to track product information such as quantities, batch numbers, and expiration dates.
2. Develop strategies to minimize costs, optimize efficiency, and reduce waste.
3. Prepare detailed reports on inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments.
4. Calculate and analyze inventory statistics: improving inventory systems and efficiency requires you to calculate and determine current inventory conditions.
5. Analyze inventory levels and product demand to determine reorder levels and safety stocks.
6. Assist with the implementation of inventory management policies and procedures.
7. Review processes with improvement proposals and reorganization in terms of continuous improvement initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required
1. Very good analytical skills.
2. Good communication skills and interaction with internal stakeholders.
3. Proactivity and flexibility.
4. Sense of urgency and priorities management.
5. Good spoken and written knowledge of the English language.
6. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Knowledge of Access will be considered a plus.
7. Knowledge of administrative/accounting principles is a plus.
Education
High School or University Degree in Economics.
Experience
At least some experience in Supply Chain.
