Offer Description
The scholarship holder must have an excellent knowledge of Latin and Greek (with particular attention to prose and the koine of scientific treatises) and of the methodology of classical philology, as well as a basic knowledge of machinic philology. The scholarship holder will be supervised by the DFCLAM team and will carry out all the stages leading to a critical edition: from the recensio, to the stemma and the text, to the translation and commentary. The scholarship holder will then submit the edition of the Pneumatica to the scientific and technical staff of the Museo Galileo, with the help of whom he/she will contribute to the creation of a kinematically and philologically correct and accurate reconstruction of the machinery described in Heron's work. Finally, the scholarship holder will supervise the creation of the interactive exhibition for the general public.
