We champion entrepreneurial culture to unlock full potential by bringing energy to the world.In this context, we have taken up the technological challenge required to reduce the environmental impact of the turbomachinery produced, with the target to reach zero net emission within 2050.Partner with the bestIn the context of Innovation Programs for compression and steam technology serving industrial markets in the energy transition space, the main responsibilities of the Technology Lead Mechanical Engineer will be focused on investigation and selection of unconventional materials for auxiliary systems suitable for critical services in terms of operating conditions (i.e. high design pressure and temperature) and/or process fluids (i.e. supercritical CO2, Hot Potassium). Proposed solutions shall consider the reliability and safety aspects, applicable standards, costs and Program constraints with the target of reducing environmental impact, increasing efficiency of turbomachinery auxiliary systems and market penetration in unconventional applications.In particular:Defining alternative materials having suitable mechanical and chemical properties for new applications in compression and steam turbine auxiliary system field.Pioneering the use of innovative materials and engineering solutions to reduce cost, increase system efficiency, optimize product sustainability and life cycle assessment.Supporting procurement in scouting new Suppliers when an unconventional material is selected.Issuing technical documentation for assigned deliverables with high focus on quality, completeness, consistency and alignment with Program requirements and internal standards.Designing compression and steam turbine mechanical auxiliary systems, performing the necessary evaluations for systems sizing, components and material selection.Attending design reviews and internal meetings with other functions to validate design.Promoting synergies with other disciplines, departments, Teams and partnerships with University or Research Center.Cooperating with procurement for proper design to cost and with suppliers for performing technical alignments.Supporting continuous improvement and cost-out initiatives.Fuel your passionTo be successful in this role you will:Hold a master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Aerospace engineering with good experience/background in Materials Engineering/Technology.Demonstrate basic knowledge of:Mechanical Design and Industrial Manufacturing Process.Materials Science, creep and corrosion phenomena.Structural Mechanics, Mechanical Vibrations and Finite Element Analysis using Ansys Mechanical or similar.Be a clear thinker: take decisions with speed and accuracy based on best available information.Able to work with and within cross-functional and cross-discipline teams.Show interpersonal skills and ability to interface effectively with different levels of the organization and external Customers.Have an entrepreneurial mindset that allows you to be self-directed, highly resilient, creative and solution oriented.Be passionate for technical deep dives, professionally curious, and an innovation advocate.Show attention to detail and innovative spirit.Be target oriented, self-starter, autonomous with an entrepreneur’s mindset.Be fluent in English and Italian and hold an EU work permit.Preferred QualificationsPhD in Engineering or RD background.Demonstrate knowledge of International Codes and Standards for Energy and Oil Gas industry (ASME, API, NACE, ASTM, ISO).Master 3D modelling using CAD software (Siemens NX or similar).Have the capability to model physic behavior through specific tools (CAESAR, Matlab/Simulink).Work in a way that works for youWe recognize that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too.
