Job Description:
The Supplier Performance Specialist is responsible to develop and Improve the LHD Supply Chain during the contractual relationship. She or he assess the supplier’s operational capability with the aim to address and resolve problems that could jeopardize or affect the LHD customer programs deliveries of helicopters, spare parts, repairs and new product introduction.
Main activities:
1. Improve poor performing Suppliers based on key performance indictors (Delivery & Quality KPI’s) and stakeholder’s inputs impacting LHD Final assembly lines, CS&S, Programs and business needs. Performance improvement has a focus on mid to long term supply chain improvements by identifying manufacturing weakness such as process repeatability, capacity, supply chain and product quality.
2. When required Supplier Improvement will instigate Quality investigations using industry tools and methods such as 8D RCCA’s, Get to Green improvement plans, critical supplier program reviews, and escalations, etc…
3. Provide leadership during investigations of major problems and or special projects focusing on developing strong partnerships with suppliers.
4. Lead suppliers through the root cause and corrective action process when supplier rejections are issued. Function as liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to resolve supplier performance issues and to provide technical support
5. Supplier Improvement will also Lead/assist Supplier Product transitions of critical components when product is resourced or when New Suppliers are on boarded to LHD and support sourcing activities with the P&SC arena. Supplier Improvement using their Program Management capability will work with local Programs and PPL to manage New Product Introduction through Qualification and Certification on to aircraft Platform.
6. Perform rate readiness for new equipment and new aircraft platforms.
7. Manage supplier assessments to evaluate suppliers and drive continuous improvements and build strategic partnership and approaches
8. Collaborate with commodity management, quality, engineering, program management teams to ensure suppliers are meeting LH contractual, regulatory, and business program needs.
9. Support current production, new product/program through the management of mid-to-long term Supplier Performance Improvement plans and were required Get to Green improvement plans.
HARD SKILLS
10. Master's degree in engineering or management engineering.
11. Minimum five years’ experience either in leading manufacturing roles or continuous improvement roles or Supply Chain manager roles.
12. Fluent in English (both spoken and written)
13. Disciplined approach to problem solving
14. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and report writing
15. Familiarity with Continuous Improvements tools: 5S, 8D and Kaizen event coordination
