We are looking for a Programmable Solution Architect for our electronics business in the HVAC market. HVAC requires reliable products and solutions that minimize costs and maximize the comfort and efficiency of work and living spaces. In this role, you will be responsible for interacting with customers and other divisions at Copeland, understanding and contributing to the realization of product requirements, and breaking them into functional blocks that the team of software/firmware developers will translate into functional code. You will therefore be responsible for assisting the team during development, contributing to writing the code, assembling the functional blocks, validating the complete solution, and assisting the customer during the startup phase. Reporting to the VP Electronics Engineering, the Programmable Solution Architect works with sales, solutions, service delivery, marketing, and engineering teams to build a growing network of happy, referenceable customers for our solutions.
Responsibilities:
* In collaboration with other divisions and departments at Copeland and with major customers, define product requirements.
* Participate in research activities for the optimization of algorithms and solutions, at the Copeland Controls, at third-party laboratories, and at customer sites.
* Have an end-to-end vision of the entire HVAC product portfolio, with the ability and authority to decide where to implement the required solution in the most suitable platform to satisfy market demand.
* Manage a team of software/firmware developers in the Belluno office and/or in other Copeland offices, educating and leading them in the development of the requested solution.
* Define code writing standards, validation criteria, and, in collaboration with the product test manager, automatic test methods.
* Be responsible for the software/firmware architectures of the HVAC product portfolio, ensuring robustness, reliability, maintainability, and agility of use.
* Define the reference hardware for the HVAC product portfolio, in collaboration with colleagues responsible for hardware design and product management.
* Contribute to writing the software/firmware and be responsible for integrating the functional blocks.
* Be responsible for training Tech Service, System Integrators, Product Managers, and customers on products and their functionality.
* Promote iPRO, through tools, training, and educational material, as a programmable platform for the HVAC market.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
* 5+ years of software/firmware experience in the HVACR industry.
* Expertise and knowledge of electronic controls.
* Expertise and knowledge of HVACR components, applications, and systems is required.
* Fluent in Italian and English; a third language is a plus.
* Minimum availability to travel required to customers, customer sites, and other divisions at Copeland.
