Senior Network Engineer Position Overview
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in routing, switching, and firewall technologies, as well as experience working with Cisco network components and F5 BigIP load balancing.
Key Responsibilities
* Configure, manage, implement, and support LAN, WAN, and WLAN networks
* Develop technology standards and procedures, collaborate on architectural direction, and assist senior-level engineers in designing solutions that meet business needs
* Design and deploy company LANs, WANs, and WLANs, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network-related hardware
* Work closely with the business team and IT to develop high-performing, efficient, cost-effective, and operationally supportable solutions that meet complex business requirements
* Evaluate opportunities for network performance and functionality improvement within the environment
Requirements
* 3+ years of experience in routing, core switching, Firewalls, VLAN, VPN, WLAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, monitoring tools, network topologies, and Cisco network components
* 3+ years of experience with F5 BigIP load balancing
* 3+ years of experience in a POS environment (POS terminal setups) or enterprise environment experience
* Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
* Proficient in EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, STP, HSRP, and VPN protocols and technologies
* Working knowledge of network access methods, including T1, DS3, OC3, Ethernet, Wireless (WLC and Meraki), and ISDN
* Knowledge of Unified Communications and Cisco voice products is preferred
* Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) certification is preferred
* DNS/DHCP/IP Address Management tools (Infoblox) are preferred
* Scripting skills with Python, Puppet, Ansible, or Chef are preferred
