Under the supervision of the Director of Annual Giving Strategies, the Associate Director of Digital Fundraising will be responsible for managing digital solicitation and stewardship communications with the goal of acquiring, retaining and cultivating donors. The Associate Director will oversee all aspects of Villanova Annual Giving’s web presence and giving vehicles, including opportunities for enhancement. The Associate Director will consider current best practices in digital segmentation and new emerging fundraising technologies in executing campaigns including, but not limited to, Villanova’s annual day of giving, calendar year end, fiscal year end and crowdfunding initiatives. The Associate Director will support digital strategies in partnership with Annual Giving team members to ensure alignment with direct mail and phone solicitation campaigns. This role will also collaborate with staff in Advancement Services, Advancement Operations, Development Solution Design and University Advancement Communication to implement digital fundraising initiatives. The Associate Director will supervise the Assistant Director of Digital Fundraising who will support the overall planning, execution, and analysis of Annual Giving’s multi-channel digital fundraising campaigns. The Associate Director will support Annual Giving team goals and attend select University Advancement events throughout the fiscal year. Duties and Responsibilities: Manage Digital Strategies for Solicitation and Stewardship Efforts: In collaboration with the Director of Annual Giving Strategies, the Associate Director will lead the strategy for Advancement’s integrated digital fundraising campaigns throughout the planning, execution, performance tracking, data segmentation, creative direction, editorial review, and approval processes. 1842 Day: The Associate Director will plan and execute the digital fundraising efforts for 1842 Day, Villanova’s annual day of giving, in collaboration with the University Advancement Communications and Development Solution Design teams. Analysis of Digital Strategies: With support from the Assistant Director of Digital Fundraising, the Associate Director will utilize Salesforce Marketing Cloud, GiveCampus, Blackbaud’s Fundraiser Performance Management, Cognos, Power BI, and/or other platforms to analyze the performance of digital fundraising and stewardship strategies. The Associate Director will support overall Annual Giving and University Advancement initiatives to meet campaign goals, especially those related to donor participation. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Three to five years of experience in digital fundraising and/or marketing, preferably in nonprofit or education. The successful candidate will possess a foundation of general knowledge and skills in digital technology as well as demonstrated expertise with current and emerging trends in digital fundraising and engagement. Strong planning and administrative skills, ability to manage simultaneous projects, priorities and deadlines, excellent verbal and writing skills, committed work ethic, ability to collaborate and communicate internally with colleagues and externally with volunteers and donors required. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment required. Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills required. Must be well organized and detail oriented. Experience with social media, email communication, and other digital technologies required. Knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook required. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s preferred, preferably in Business/ Marketing/ Communications. Experience applying data insights to build strategic initiatives and measure results, including A/B testing and user optimization is preferred. Knowledge and skills in fundraising and online solicitation strategies strongly preferred. Experience creating effective digital campaigns, specifically through email, social media and web (paid and organic) preferred. Experience fundraising for or advocating on behalf of underrepresented groups preferred. Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM platforms preferred. Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours: Occasional evening and weekend work required.
