Job Title: Solutions Engineer (Mechanical)
General Purpose of the Position:
The Solutions Engineer – Mechanical will report to the Solutions Engineer Director and will be responsible for pre-sales engineering, fit-out project implementation and becoming a trusted technical advisor for STACK’s clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Support EMEA Teams in technical qualification and development of opportunities.
* Coordinate with STACK’s development and construction teams to meet client specifications.
* Own the technical relationship from presales through delivery on all incoming sales opportunities.
* Be the “Technical Lead” - fielding Data Hall Fit Out solutions to meet client requirements.
* Design the preliminary client solution.
* Manage and direct communication from internal and external stakeholders.
* Improve client engagement and articulate complex solutions.
* Lead technical tours and sales presentations.
* Lead Technical response to RFPs and RFIs.
* Develop and maintain critical professional relationships with end-users, consultants, vendors, telco providers, and contractors within the data centre market.
* Work closely with internal STACK colleagues to ensure local consistent implementation of STACK standards and processes.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Deep understanding of data centre infrastructure design and construction techniques, operational requirements and challenges, data hall fit-out projects, equipment and technology advances and general industry trends.
* Strong knowledge of the technical sales process and working with technical buyers and site selection teams for hyperscale and large enterprise data centre users.
* Capability to determine electrical, mechanical, security, and communications related data centre scope requirements, solutions, and construction requirements.
* Significant experience providing technical sales and/or managing data hall fit out projects at a commercial wholesale colocation data centre provider.
* Able to prioritize workload and attention in a rapidly changing environment.
* Strong application software skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; Visio; AutoCAD.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Confident public speaking abilities.
* Proven self-starter with attention to detail.
* Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a related engineering discipline.
