NAVIRIS is looking for a Combat System Architect in Genoa (Italy). NAVIRIS represents the joint venture between Fincantieri and Naval Group. NAVIRIS' goal is to create value for its customers through the following key areas: Joint research and development projects; Worldwide supply capacity; Prime Contractorship and Design Authority; ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Combat System Architect is responsible for the technical coordination of the design of the Combat System of Italian surface ships, in full cooperation with the designated partners (Combat System Integrator for Italian vessels, CS Equipment Suppliers including the one in charge of Anti-Air Missile System, shipyard responsible for CSPI and EM Engineering on Italian vessels). He/She shall technically contribute to the allocation of industrial requirements to the partners for the development of a multi-national complex program with high customer requirements. These requirements will mainly come from the CS Integrator/CMS supplier and the shipyard but the CS Architect shall ensure that they are exhaustive and coherent. With the support of a team of specialists and under the technical management of the Whole Warship Architect, he oversees the development of the main systems, ensuring the reliability of the information provided to the Customer through the Contractual Deliverables. He participates actively in the definition of Verification and Validation process, particularly to the list and sequencing of the tests and trials for CS Equipment and CS as a whole. In the future phases of the project, the CS Architect will represent Naviris during the Integration, Tests and trials and acceptance activities, together with the specialists per domains. The CS Architect shall manage the correct execution of transverse studies in his domain of expertise (Safety, performance assessment, EMC/EMI). He shall contribute to the process of waivers analysis, assessment and upscaling, bringing his experience at CS Level. He shall report regularly the progress and difficulties related to CS development, testing and qualification/Acceptance to the Naviris WW Architect and to the Design WP Manager. The CS Architect is the main interface between Naviris and the Customer for discussions related to CS. He will also contribute to the preparation of ECP, bids, and contractual amendments in the field of studies and interactions between design, procurement and production. REQUIREMENTS You have a good understanding of the requirements of recognized standards and development processes such as ISO 15288 or Mil-Std 499 adapted to industrial environments such as Naval Engineering. You can demonstrate a successful experience in technical management of significant functional chains of the combat system for Surface vessels. You have also a good knowledge of the Combat Management System for frigates. You have demonstrated experience in Electro-magnetic engineering on a heavily armed Surface Combatant. Engineering graduate (Master level) in electronics with proven successful experience as a CS Architect or CS specialist in the field of an effectively complex Combat System development. A qualification or specialization in a cross-functional technical field such as complex systems engineering is a plus. A good knowledge of combat ships, their functional and physical trees, and several functional chains of the combat system would be a plus. Professional English (speaking, writing and reading) is essential. Excellent Italian (speaking, writing and reading) is a plus. You are well-organized, with proven leadership, listening and understanding skills to manage the design activities by Naviris staff, Fincantieri representatives and multiple international partners, for a given project. Team working is important for you. You are able to integrate subcontracted studies into your activities and to work in a multinational context. You are able to present formally situations related to the development of the CS on Italian vessels to the Customers in a clear and controlled way, in perfect alignment with the CS Architect in charge of the French CS upgrade or the different specialists of systems in the Naviris team (in Italy and in France).
