Join Our Innovative Team as an Italy R&D Product Development Manager!
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Italy R&D Product Development Manager to join our team. This role offers the flexibility to be based in either Merlino (LO) or Pignataro Maggiore (CE) .
About the Role:
As a key member of our Italy R&D team, you will report to the Italy R&D Sr. Manager and will oversee a diverse range of energy cable projects for our Italian affiliate, ensuring we stay at the forefront of the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Understand customer needs and market trends through direct interactions and commercial team insights.
2. Develop technical solutions for market opportunities and technical challenges.
3. Define, create, and execute projects to develop new products, managing timing, resources, and costs in collaboration with the commercial team.
4. Work with Engineering/Design and Material teams to create cable prototypes, ensuring they meet performance targets.
5. Achieve project cost and timing targets, managing the product development team across Merlino and South Italy sites.
6. Lead and coordinate activities with Operations, R&D, and other departments to execute projects.
7. Assist production plants with technological and quality issues, providing technical support to internal and external customers.
8. Drive Design To Cost activities aimed at reducing product costs.
9. Drive and report on NPIKPIs.
10. Coordinate and manage suppliers with the Procurement Organization.
11. Regularly visit sites to witness process and lab trials.
12. Maintain control over product development costs on a monthly basis.
Qualifications:
13. Master’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Materials is preferred) or a master’s degree in Chemistry or Physics.
14. 5/8 years in the chemical-mechanical industry, with experience in polymers transformation/extrusion. Experience in the cable industry is a significant plus.
15. Strong understanding of materials (metallurgy, compounds, thermal ratings) and technology (machinery and manufacturing processes, especially in plastic materials manufacturing).
16. Analytical and problem-solving abilities, strong proactiveness, planning and project management skills, persistence, and the ability to influence others.
17. Positive attitude to lead and motivate the team, primarily through influence.
18. Inclusivity and diversity mindset.
19. Willingness to work on production lines to directly follow prototype production.
20. Fluent in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
