Summary
* Responsible for all PSC (Patient Service Center) front office duties, including customer service, data entry, insurance billing and payments, problem resolution, following HIPAA regulations, and ordering office supplies.
* May provide support at several locations and could be cross-trained as PSR I to help with overflow during high volume times.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Greet customers appropriately and treat all customers in a courteous manner.
* Assist patients with kiosk sign-in and ensure accuracy.
* Contact clients to obtain patient orders.
* Handle customer inquiries.
* Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
* Perform basic clerical duties such as filing, faxing, preparing mail, and data entry.
* Demonstrate organizational commitment and values of the Client.
* Adhere to departmental and company policies.
* Report on time to work, following attendance guidelines.
* Answer the telephone in a friendly and helpful manner, incorporating the company name and self-identification.
* Use established protocols for reporting customer complaints.
* Ensure HIPAA Compliance regulations are followed.
* Complete all required training.
* Assist with stocking of supplies.
* Complete other duties as required to meet customer requirements.
* Complete special projects as requested by supervisor or manager.
Job Qualifications
Required Work Experience:
* One year customer service experience.
Preferred Work Experience:
* Keyboard/data entry and PC experience.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
* Prolonged standing/sitting.
* Able to lift up to 25 pounds; carry up to 15 pounds for several minutes at a time.
* Talking.
* Vision - requires constant mental visual attention to details.
* Walking.
* Balancing, bending, kneeling.
* Pushing/pulling.
* Reaching/twisting.
Knowledge:
* Medical terminology helpful, but not required.
Skills:
* Must be flexible and available based on staffing requirements; including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
* Strong communication skills; able to speak clearly and effectively communicate with customers and peers.
* Good organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
* Able to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise consistent, independent, sound judgment.
Education:
* High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
