3. About the role We are searching for a Modern Workplace Engineer (IT Microsoft Engineer) with a focus on automation and using the Microsoft Cloud Stack to monitor and manage the company’s real estate.
In this role, you will be part of a wider team focusing on internal stakeholders.

4. What you will be doing The main aim of the Modern Workplace Engineer is to modernise our infrastructure utilising Microsoft products in conjunction with our Microsoft Partnership.
Provide continual improvement and process automation.
Manage the lifecycle of devices, applications & data management.
Provide technical input into strategic direction.
Manage Active Directory & Azure AD Identity.
Administer cloud environments (SaaS, PaaS, IoT, IaaS).
Procure and provision of IT equipment as required.
Create proposals and solutions with the internal Infrastructure Team.
Focus on completing IT Projects, installations, configurations, and changes in an effective manner with attention to detail.
Design, develop and test infrastructure for roll-out.
The role requires technical knowledge, flexibility and an ability to produce technical documentation.
You will be required to write project tasks, detailed instructions for end users, technical documentation, and ongoing support documents.
You would also provide technical training of systems to support BAU when needed.
You will also engage with our internal stakeholders to understand infrastructure and licensing requirements in support of their business problems.
5. Technical skills and Experience 5+ years of technical support experience or a similar position Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Endpoint Management and Policies Industrial certification with Microsoft, Linux or similar industries will be considered an asset.
A Diploma in IT or equivalent certification (as a minimum) Excellent communication skills must speak/read & write in English at a good level Managing Microsoft Environment and enterprise solutions using Microsoft Endpoint Manager, InTune, Autopilot, Auto Patch, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Office 365 Productivity and Collaboration Tooling e.g., Teams and emerging technologies Microsoft Azure Services, (Azure Active Directory, MFA, Conditional Access, Enterprise Applications, Logic Apps, Virtual Machines) Knowledge of and experience in virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V Experience with migrations covering Exchange, MS Teams, OneDrive & Sharepoint (Tenant to Tenant migrations) Experience with large-scale Cloud User / Device Management Develop new solutions to meet Ascent's business requirements where no solutions currently exist Knowledge of modern security best practices including identity-driven security, data-centric controls and zero trust Microsoft Active Directory, Sites and Services, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, Server Roles Knowledge of traditional and modern virtualization solutions and best practices including an awareness of deploying and managing cloud-hosted computing in Azure IT infrastructure installation, support, and maintenance Working at Ascent At Ascent we promote a healthy work-life balance by offering flexibility in where you work.
