PRIMARY DUTIES: Directly support the Director of Business & Product Development in executing the APQP process - including prototyping, process and tooling development and qualification, determining process capability, packaging/labeling, process documentation and associate training. Preparation of PPAP submissions according to customer requirements. Involved with customer-specific Safe Launches. Participates in the transition from safe launch to series production. OTHER: (e.g. authorizations, authority to issue directives, information rights): Training of associates to customer-specific procedures/work instructions. Support continuous improvement as well as corrective and preventive actions. WORKPLACE REQUIREMENTS: (only those actually necessary for the position) Practical working knowledge of the following standards: TS 16949, ISO 14001, AIAG standards. Practical working knowledge of quality tools (Pareto analysis, trend analysis, scatter diagrams, histograms, capability charts, SPC, etc.). Practical experience leading cross-functional teams through new product introductions. REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS: Education/Certifications: 8-10 years technical degree (preferably mechanical engineering or chemical engineering). Successful completion of formal problem-solving training (Ford TOPS 8D is preferred). Formal training and certification in Project Management. ASQ CQM, CQE or CQT. Experience: Experience at the Tier I or II automotive supplier or automotive OEM. Practical working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and methods.
