We support utilities, regulators, developers, owners, and lenders with feasibility studies, technical due diligence, conceptual design & procurement support, and independent technical advisory services for either owner, lender, or offtaker/procurer/regulator. You’ll be part of the SEMELA Solar & Storage Section within our Renewables Advisory Department. You will be working with diverse customers and colleagues, and the role offers an opportunity to be involved in other energy technology-related projects. You will be located in our office in Bologna (or Milan) and reporting to the Solar Team Leader for Italy and Greece. You would be using your technical expertise and knowledge to support your colleagues in delivering independent and owners engineering services not only in Italy but across the entire SEMELA region. Most of the work will be desk-based, but (national and international) travel for site and customer visits will be required at times (estimated at 5% to 20% of your time, depending on the projects you are involved in). Main duties will include but are not limited to: Execute and/or manage solar-related advisory projects, including feasibility studies, technical due diligence, and owners engineering. You will be involved in conceptual design, technical specifications, procurement support, EPC/O&M contract review, design review, construction progress monitoring, testing and commissioning, grid connection review, report writing, and presentations. Extend your external network and identify, drive and facilitate sales and market-led opportunities for solar, e.g., generating leads, quality proposals, and closing deals in cooperation with the Market Manager for the region. Assess new business opportunities, gather market intelligence, and ensure distribution of knowledge amongst relevant colleagues. To be successful in this role you should have: Master’s degree in a relevant engineering subject. 5 years’ experience in the (renewable) energy sector, of which 3 years providing engineering and/or consultancy in Italy. Familiar with the authorization process for the development, construction, and operation of solar PV projects in Italy; Familiar with Feasibility Studies, Technical Due Diligence processes and Owners Engineering Services. Technical expertise in solar technology, electrical balance of plant design & specifications. Experience with contracts (construction, supply, operations, interconnection, offtake, and/or asset management contracts). Experience as Project Manager. Managing teams for delivering a project with a defined scope, budget, and timeline. Dynamic and enthusiastic team player - co-operates well with others, shares knowledge, experience, and information, and supports others in pursuit of team goals. Delivery and Results - completes tasks in accordance with expectations and schedule and with strong attention to detail, understanding task urgency; able to juggle and manage conflicting work priorities to ensure deadlines are met.
